iduru, I know I'm very lucky. On March 25, my wife and I are going to Japan for 12 days. Then on August 31, I'll be on my way to E. Europe for a cruise tour from BudaPest to the Black Sea for 13 days. I might still be able to squeeze in another trip before December 31.

Very cool. I can say that I lived in Italy for three years and was able to see most of europe during that time but I really want to see the far east sometime in my life. Sounds like you will have a great time.
Now where is Caprice ?

I envy c.i. too! I have done little traveling myself. Not because I don't want to but it's been a case of either finances or time. I can never seem to get the two to coincide. *sigh*
iduru, how were you able to live in Italy? Do you have family there?

My father was in the Air Force. We were stationed at a base called Aviano, it''s about a half hour north of Venice. Hence my instant recognition of the Realto Bridge.

Ah...I see. I forgot about the military brat scenario. If I'd been in your shoes I would have been all over Europe too! *sigh*

Yes, you have it iduru, your turn!
The unique bit of info about this ancient church is that it was moved from Gol and re-erected at its current home at the Norwegian Folkmuseum in the 1880's. Also, there is supposed to be a duplicate (at 85% the size of the original) at Epcot Center in Florida's Disneyworld. Had I found out this last bit of info sooner, I would have attempted to find and post a pic of the replica, just to throw you off the trail!
I did find the Epcot replica in my search, but you said it was in Norway so it couldn't have been that one. Man that was tough!

Wah on the stave kyrkje.
I was looking at my photos of Norway last night - and there was one of those great churches. When I wake up this morning, there it is, in "Where am I?", and someone has already guessed it!
Wah!
