Kev is right, that's Boyne Mountain in Boyne Falls, Michigan. Biggest hill in the state.

is that George Washington somewhere -
or maybe James Cook?

Or Arthur Phillip?

No - I think it's James Cook in Whitby!

Captain Cook
Chased a chook
All around Australia
He jumped the fence
And laid an egg
And they called it Tasmania!

We get more snow in California than just about anywhere on earth. Just not on the coast. The Sierra Nevada is currently buried. The snow depth at Carson Pass is 185 inches, which is 15.5 feet, or about 5 meters.

kev, As fealola has already explained, yes, we have snow in California. The Sierra Nevada Mountain Range has many winter resorts for skiing. The winter olympics were once held in California.

Sheeesh! I knew those geography lessons would pay off soon.

Captain James Cook, attributed (here and in UK)with the discovery of Australia, 1770, despite the fact that aborigines had been here already 40,000 years, and the Dutch dropped in regularly, from the East Indies, particularly to the west coast, and the French were here, and countless Melanesians.
