Who is the best band ever?
The Stones, without a doubt.
Agree with Swimpy. Can't go past the stones.
Tie:
Jethro Tull and Queensryche, although it is true that any tape left in a car for more than two weeks mysteriously turns into Quen: A Night at the Opera.
Bob, Night at the Opera never LEAVES my car :-) Or my mp3 player, or my computer, or my alarm clock, or my. . .
Fred Wesley and the JB's.
Beatles, Stones, Ledd Zeppelin recorded the best song ever, ACDC-the ultimate garage band. There's too many to pick just one.
stones,,,no question besides dylan
but he's solo, don't count here
I notice that British bands seem to rate pretty highly!
it's a toss up as far as i'm concerned between the dead and the stones,,,if i could pick two bands i could sleep in peace tonight.
jerry will haunt me forever for this vote and sleep is out of the question.
The Dead wasn't the greatest band. They were just the band with the most rabid fans.
I thought, maybe, with Jerry out of the picture I could try to actually listen to some of their music, but no... too many years in dorms hearing the Dead on other kid's stereos two doors and several floors away...
"Freddy's dead...no he ain't"
I would have to pick ABBA.

There was one year in Australia, where you could not turn on the television or radio for five minutes, or open a newspaper, without seeing, hearing or reading something about ABBA.
I think Palindrome would have been a way cooler band name than ABBA.
i don't think it's possible for there to be a "best band ever" but the beatles are one of the most influential. the doors were also up there. my personal favourite is Nirvana.
Cav, there's a musical playing here in New York right now with ABBA's music. . . Mama Mia. . . I was expecting a Dancing Queen-type roller derby disco extravaganza, but was pleasantly surprised. . . the music was top-notch!
