Religious Mediocracy

I wrote a quick piece in an angered state over a year ago about the religious mediocracy that seems to be rampant more than ever. Now, some of you may be wondering as to what that is exactly and to put it as bluntly as I can it would be the "average religious person". More specifically people who ignorantly accept the views of their parents as true, people who dont actively seek the truth or question why their beliefs are real to them. They just dont really care either way. And it is this type of thinking, this type of mind-numbing state, that is quite offensive to me. It just reminds me of a "whatever, I dont care" type of attitude to which I cannot tolerate. So, I may come across as a bit of an ass in this short excerpt and if I offend anyone in the process I apologize in advance, but I have, what I would consider, some good reasons why. I just wonder if anyone else felt the same way. Thanks.

I believe in a day that it was once common enough to congregate in a professional, popular, provocatively phenomenal dialogue of the intellect, while just using the P's from Sir Alfuhbet. Everyone's awareness would fuse to the discussion of philosophy because everyone had a philosophy. No one could escape; no one wanted to escape. Philosophy was a spark-- an attention getter to say the least. Everyone had an opinion, everyone wanted to say theirs and everyone wanted to hear theirs. For what could be more satisfying to the body, mind --and soul if one feels so apt to say so-- than to be involved in the ultimate beauty, wonder and nature of reality? I will not be so foolish to say it is better than sex, but I mean come on. Come on? hmmm I wish SouthPark would stop casting its lure into my stream. Jumping back into things, I cannot confess enough to how much an ideal city would fall short in existence if without philosophy as a catalyst to encompass one's social, political and intellectual drive. It would surely be a sad sight, and a rather ironic one at that, to see an end to a charitably solipsistic creed of life. Religion has taken its ideology past popularity, to the point of regularity. For no more is it common knowledge that intellectual honesty is a more glorified virtue. The common is now of dogmatic origins whose theme holds less weight than ever before. And yet, it remains? For it is no longer common to have intellectually stimulating conversations sweeping social interactions:

"Just gimme my ipod and leave me alone in my ever-imploding world to which I live. I care not of satisfying my thirst for knowledge because that would require the concepts of time and energy, to which I not only know nothing about, but at the same time take for granted on a daily basis. I ignorantly choose, believe, trust, and presuppose the philosophy of my elders as authentic and correct because I am unaware... unaware of everything except that of juvenile and immediate satisfaction."

At least the preacher knows something! What do you know religious mediocracy? You claim to represent something but you don't even know what it is. Give me something, anything, which could save yourselves from intellectual embarrassment. At least the delusional know what they believe. At least they have taken a side. You've taken a side? Please, keep riding the fence some more charlatans. I could go on and on about the delusional but the present theme is on you. Keep fueling the fire by not doing anything; keep enjoying the elementary aspects of life; keep yourself oblivious to the values and virtues of life; keep your rhetoric locked up as she screams for freedom and fulfillment. All the while the key to her release is not tossed away, but is right in front of you. I care not what philosophy you choose; I care not what your conclusions are. At least present a discourse, a conversation, a dialogue, a brain for shits sake! I care not if the finale is rational or empirical, natural or supernatural, practical or impractical. I wouldn't say logical or illogical to an actual discourse but in your case of starting from scratch, do something?anything! Does your soul not matter? Does god not matter? Does eternal hell-fire not matter? Does life not matter? Does reality not matter? Does truth not matter? I worry? I worry about your offspring as much as I do for the mentally abused. Stop being so self-centered and contribute to society's future. Shall I continue or have I lost your attention already?
