@djjd62,
Not able to access A2k you mean? Or sites generally?

Beach balls?

I was unable to access A2k again from a few minutes after my last post on this thread, until I went to bed some hours later.

Sigh.

@dlowan,
all sites really, both browsers acting really buggy and slow

on a mac you get these little multicolour spinning discs when a program is taking too long to do what it's supposed to (someone referred to them as looking like beach balls)

so far safari has been good

I've had the occasional problem - but nothing in your league (but then, I'm certainly not in your league!)

I didn't get an email from you. pm - yes; email - no!

@msolga,
I predict it will go again later this evening.

In fact, I predict about 3 hours from now.

At 10.25 pm yesterday my forum time.

(Around 7 pm this evening my time.)

@dlowan,
Have you contacted your ISP about the problem?

@msolga,
Nope.

a, Find it ridiculous that my ISP would cause a problem with ONE site so I would rather wait until some sort of response from A2k is forthcoming. If it continues for a few days more and I get no help from A2k I'll try it then

b. I have to have an age to wait on hold until some incomprehensible person in India or Pakistan or the Phillipines has to be dealt with with great difficulty. It normally takes an age to get them to slow down enough for me to understand them much less get help. Usually they are also very rude.

I have to be feeling up to it.

It's funny...the same countries staff my HP help line and they are angels!

@dlowan,
Well it's all a mystery, alright! Confused

I know when I've experienced problems in the past, my ISP has been really helpful.

(Perhaps a local ISP when your current contract expires? )

@dlowan,
It's not half bad, Deb. (Ask Dutchy.)

Very reasonably priced, too.

I haven't experienced any problems at all since the initial (establishing) glitches, which were a pain in the bum, no doubt about it!

Hi Deb, I have been with my ISP, www.iinet.net.net.au, for over 10 years and recommended them to msolga. They are Australia 3rd largest ISP and are situated in Perth. Their prices are competitive, they recently added an extra 2G's a month to my quota without an increase in price.

@dlowan,
Phew.

Been almost impossible to get in for a day or so. No response from A2k support, so I did try ISP. Rude as usual. It's funny what strong cultures businesses have! Norton and HP support are ALWAYS a delight to deal with, even when we are struggling to understand each other. Microsoft is always unreachable.

They're not interested in investigating the problem since it's only gone on for a month and today unplugging the modem and re-plugging it coincided with being able to access A2k again. (As if I hadn't done that before!)

They refuse to believe it's just one site because I haven't "monitored it". When I said I had been monitoring it for over a month and it was always just A2k they said it wasn't important enough yet to be investigated.

BUT...I AM free to look for a better provider!!!

Will likely wait until I get back from overseas though.
