Beautiful Music

No, please, I do not mean the JIB radio franchise! What music do you find truly lovely?

About a month ago, I went to a concert by the remarkable Irish singer Maura O'Connell. She performed solo, accompanied by a guitarist named John Mock. I bought her latest CD as well as his at the show.

His is gorgeous (haven't taken the wrapper off hers . . . long and uninteresting story). I was driving home late at night, beyond the reach of radio with the exception of a jazz show and was thoroughly sick of the CDs in my car.

Mock's CD is called The Day at Sea and features his solo guitar work as well as some orchestral pieces. A native of Connecticut, he pays tribute to his state, to Ireland, and the sea.

Truly beautiful.

OK, your turn!

@dyslexia,
I remember ELP. I had one of their recordings but I left all my records behind with the last move.

What do you like about that recording?

@plainoldme,
I love the haunting and passionate music ~tango~ of the legendary Argentinian composer, Astor Piazolla.

@tsarstepan,
I love the tango as well! But I am very unco-ordinated and become dizzy so I can not dance. I'm a listener.

@plainoldme,
I hold no delusions that I could possibly dance to Argentinian tango. I too am just a listener.

One of the most beautiful pieces of music I know of. Perfect.

May the wind be gentle,
may the wave(s) be calm,
and may every one of the elements
warmly fulfill our (your) wishes.

Is another one OK?
Completely different to my other choice, I stumbled on this just a few weeks ago.
Beautiful, too.
Sigh.

@msolga,
Good morning dearest Olga. That is indeed a haunting melancholic work of music. Quite beautiful indeed.

@tsarstepan,
Good evening, dearest tsar . Smile
You mean Charlie Darwin? (I posted a beautiful Mozart before that.)

Edit: Ah, I see you did mean that one.

@tsarstepan,
I've had a bit of trouble with your link above, tsar, so sadly no tango-ing for me tonight. Wink
I'll have another go at it over the next couple of days .. when I'm not quite so zonked.
