@Region Philbis,
I'm still remembering last year's trouble with the Rays. Sure will see what the Rays are made of this time. Let's hope both of these guys leave out those brush back pitches and quiet down the chin music.

@Region Philbis,
" Garza is scheduled to start Monday but is likely to be traded before then."

I like what he might offer the Sawx if came but I'm a little leery of his long term health.

As for Price, I got him in my fantasy team so I've been following his record. He seems to have some bad luck and not getting much run support. I'm not sure he's been pitching that badly, though - especially in the clutch.

@Region Philbis,
Agreed. I'd hate for them to lose some of their best young talent in the midst of a trade. However, I'd love to see them in the WS against LA-LA Dodgers and the Puig-monster. Of course, there's quite a lot that would have to happen first before it'd be imaginable...but it's getting closer (pun intended).

@Region Philbis,
BTW, I must mention my pride for my hometown fans for giving Mariano Rivera a Standing Ovulation when he entered the game.

@Region Philbis,
I predict a 3-way race to the end - Orioles, Sawx, TB Rays. However, IMHO, without a star closer, it's not looking that promising. Casual observation on my part but I see that having a closer-by-committee never pans out.

Being a closer for the Sawx is parallel to being a drummer for the Grateful Dead.

@Ragman,
AL East is the toughest sandlot in baseball but I think the Sox are the toughest team playing there.

@panzade,
Yeah. Call me biased or better yet myopic...but I think it's the most spirited and interesting race.

I'm not the only Red Sawxer fan in TB territory. I just saw an ad for TB Rays tix...for a 6-pack ... 6 tickets starting at $12 each. Sadly, not a great stadium, though, and not in such a decent neighborhood.

pedroia (8 years, $110 mill) ain't going anywhere.

he is now the richest 2B in history -- at least until robbie cano signs his next contract this offseason.

@Region Philbis,
There's an auction on EBay for pieces of the dugout phone Big Papi pulverized. No rush 'cause there are plenty pieces to go around. The ump/chump that made the bad call is lucky that wasn't his head. Sadly, Big Papi will be out of the lineup for a game or 2 (I think). Wrong time for him to go MIA.

@Ragman,
he's making the most of his free time today.

I think his manager maybe should have suspended him for a game.

that was kinda dangerous to the other contracts sitting there...

@Rockhead,
I was on stage, playing with my combo and next to us is an eight foot TV screen. When Papi swung, I ducked.

@Region Philbis,
Standing in line at the great Jake Peavy Trade Waiting line.

Apparently, Sawx should be waiting in line at SF giants door as they're auctioning of Timmah, Lopez and Pence.

I'd like the chances of Right-fielder Pence the most. Maybe he's more affordable than other trade permutations if Giants don't get a package deal from another contendah?

@Ragman,
...of course, (big assumption) that means that in my wish-list the Sawx already will get Peavy and the cost won't be too high. I'm a Dreamah..an Impossible Dreamah!

@Ragman,
clarifying: I don't want, in the acquisition of getting Peavy, that the cost of getting Pence also won't be too high in terms of raiding their future talent. Strategically (with the trades I wrote on my wish-list) that could mean they might consider getting along with the relievers they got without getting a drop-dead closer. Closer-by-committee might work.
