@Region Philbis,
Considering how far the product's quality has slipped with such little R.O.I., I think they should refund some money.

@Joe Nation,
Red Sox In Negotiations With John Farrell
Joe McDonald of ESPNBoston.com on the Red Sox and Blue Jays negotiating to send John Farrell to Boston to become the team's new manager.
http://espn.go.com/boston/mlb/story/_/id/8525179/source-boston-red-sox-toronto-blue-jays-negotiating-john-farrell

Who can the Red Sox give up player wise in order to let Toronto give up Farrell so he can be the Red Sox manager?

they're prolly gonna see how lackey does with the new elbow...

dice is a free agent, and is prolly going back to japan...

last year, the jays wanted either buchholz or bard.
i wouldn't mind if it was bard this time...

@Region Philbis,
I just went to Redsox.com and read the stats on Aviles and Jose Iglesias. I'm cool with this (as a fan). You know, I never found out what the compensation was for Theo Epstein. Did that ever get settled, finally?

{Edit: I found it. Basically, the major part of the deal was the trading to RS the services of Chris Carpenter, a potential closer- reliever. http://www.nesn.com/2012/02/red-sox-compensation-saga-for-theo-epstein-proves-bud-selig-mlb-need-to-fix-process.html}

@Region Philbis,
Now all I need is an Obama win and the world will seem right again.

Big Papi was being eyed heavily by the TX Rangers.

@Ragman,

you got it... Very Happy

the 2013 coaching staff is taking shape...
bench coach -- Torey Lovullo (former blue jays coach/pawtucket manager)
third base coach -- Brian Butterfield (former jays coach)
and announced today... pitching coach -- Juan Nieves (former chi-sox bullpen coach)

still need a first base coach & bullpen coach.
it's possible that ochoa & tuck will be retained for those positions...

sawx acquired back-up catcher david ross from the braves on saturday.
now they're taking a "hard look" at catcher/first baseman mike napoli.
my guess -- salty is going back to texas as part of a deal...

Hunter went to detroit... instead, the sawx have signed Johnny Gomes.
a good green monstaah swing, he will either replace or compliment cody ross -- depending on whether they can also sign ross...

@Region Philbis,
As is typical, they're over-paying for an oft-injured power-hitter. The big upside is that he plays a good defense at either at first and at catcher. This makes him an invaluable commodity.

Gawd help them if he had signed with some other contendah. They're going to have lots more signing to do in order to compete with the rest of the division considering what Toranna Blow-Jasys have pulled off.

This could be pretty interesting as he seems to have the right attitude about being flexible with assignment and role.
