And with that the Yankees took the series winning 2 out of 3 and proving once more which team is best. Apparently being well rested wasn't enough for the Fenway team.

'twas a bad night for the people of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as even their Patriots were sacked after having what seemed a victory with their 17-3 lead as the halftime approached, which soon was reversed as the Giants (yes, the team which once played at Yankee stadium) went on to win by 1 point in a final of 18-17, in their final preseason game.

You can thank a friend of mine for your victory yesterday. In the 3rd inning (I believe that was it) Texas was leading and he was crowing how nice it would be to see the eastern Massachusetts team get swept. It was about then, that the tide turned and Texas began losing. Truly a sad day...although you probably liked it.

Enjoy your game today, hope the weather stays nice for you guys.

Perhaps it's their AAA pitching?

Actually it's just our beloved Sawx being Sawx (manny being Manny). We sure marveled at their amazing hitting consistency for most of the season. When they run aground now and then, we gotta allow it. Let's hope they don't do this in October.

Can Lackey suck any worse?

Starting to worry whether or not Sawx will make it to even the Wild Card? Sheesh! They'll be facing TB Rays for 4 or 5 games by the end of the season. I sure hope they wake up and bring their A game.

Unfortunately for the team, Youkilis looks currently to be a car-wreck. Love the guy, but it looks doubtful down the stretch due to his multiple injuries, bursitis, hip and now a hernia. He's a gamer but it's not looking good.

My feeling is that Bard will come along and big a big part of the stretch drive.
