NPR pulled a prank. There was a multi-person interview about how congress had just snuck and passed a bill through the legislative process to change the number of days in every month. In order to save money and decrease the defficeit the months would now be shorter.

@littlek,
NPR is good at that kind of stuff. I still remember the year (though not which year it was) that NPR reported that France was bringing back the death penalty despite objections from other EU members. And, of course, the guillotine was being reintroduced as the preferred method of execution. Sounded believable when delivered by a reputable newsman with a straight face.

@Merry Andrew,
It took me longer than I'd like to admit to figure it was a prank.

@littlek,
I enjoyed the A2k´s pranks.
I find April 1st pranks fun as a rule.
The one I saw some place about European Union is going to forbid April 1st jokes really good and very believeable.
The one about cheney and rove had plotted to kill the president I did not fall for - not finding the link again made me realize it was a prank.

The favorite prank of the kids in school yesterday was to stand up en masse and walk out of the room just as the teacher started to speak.

@littlek,
I remember a very bad Arpil Joke.
When we arrived at school at 8 our class teacher told us we had the day off.
So we all stood up and started to leave and she yelled "April Fool´s Day"
Was I mad the rest of the day.

The Little Mermaid is going to an world exhibition this summer so a Danish paper had an ad for a living substitute for her this summer.
"You have to be good in selfdefence as she has been attacked etc." it said
Lots of girls applaied for the job.
That was a good joke.
