@Rockhead,
Ha. No, not quite, Rocky.

First came across this amazing creation when a friend & I were hitchhiking through Queensland, some years ago, when we were young things. There it was, looming on the horizon, in the middle of nowhere, this whopping monstrous pineapple! Surprised At moments like that, you really wonder if you've totally lost your marbles! Smile

Dadpad, you made me laugh out loud!

Deb, are you considering investing in that humongous crustacean? I notice it's up for sale ...

@dlowan,
Why do I have this feeling there's some staggeringly humongous strawberry yet to be revealed ... in Budapest, Cape Town, or somewhere?

I'm an oldie from California. We have many cultural traditions considered odd by others. It'll take me a bit to hone down the list..

@Merry Andrew,
Ah, I see!

The variety my mother used to make (wish I could get them right! Sad ) were served hot & steaming ... with either cream & chopped green onion as an accompaniment, or else chopped browned onion bits fried in butter, poured over ...

Sounds like a very different version to what you're used to.

You probably wouldn't mind us getting back to the thread topic, too, tsar? Wink

Apologies, I feel partly responsible for leading this thread astray with the giant pineapple.
