@Bi-Polar Bear,
I like the original better. It is cleaner, and the eclipse effect is neat.

@Bi-Polar Bear,

not ever. we are marketing ourselves to make money so we play the "commerical radio" hair rock stuff. I like to tell people we're a cuddly poster on your sisters wall hair band like Cheap Trick, Def Leppard.... not scary metal like Judas Priest, W.A.S.P. or Metallica. Although the heavier stuff is what I like best, in this market it relegates you to playing the small rooms that don't want to pay. I can blast Sabbath in my mp3 when I'm riding my bike. Laughing

Then shouldn't it be "Rock of the Aged"?

@joefromchicago,
If I didn't know Bear, the name has this association for me.

@Bi-Polar Bear,
Well, if your company's name is subject to that kind of obvious joke, then maybe you should think about using a different name. How about "Geezer Grooves?" Or maybe "Gigs and Geezers." Or "Rock of Geezers." I dunno, something with the word "Geezers" in it. That would be awesome.

@joefromchicago,
why so shitty? rock of ages refers to classic rock through the decades as you well know. There are a lot of artists here and I was just looking for an informed opinion.

why not call yourself cuntfromchicago?

It's always gratifying to know that there's at least one person out there who has taken an interest in my sex life.

And I'll thank you to leave my cats out of this.

What do you think of this logo? Consider that it needs to be easily read and not overly elaborate.

I like this a lot, as is, and enjoy the brightness, as in, that's the point.
I agree with others that it doesn't work as a general logo, but then maybe there could be a secondary logo.

thanks for the serious feedback positive and negative. We're going to use this logo because overall the feedback I got on it was way more positive than negative. We are however going to tone down the nova a bit as suggested, to give the thing a little more definition. As far as printing on a flyer or in B& W it seems to have come out fine. we do all our promo flyers on black glossy stock.

We're also going to put it on a banner to hang behind the band and where the nova on the o is I'm going to have that cut out and stitched and mount a white moonflower fixture behind it so it'll shoot white beams out of the o. It should be an effective special effect used sparingly.

I think I like the lighting and production part of being in a band as well as the music. I love lighting.
