Making a call - blacks out the screen when slider is closed

I noticed it blacks the screen out when it comes in proximity to your face, probably to save battery, I thought it was kind of interesting that It does that, works as a power saver. I Assume if you pull it away from your face and the screen comes back on you can hit the speaker phone button

Yes it was the cover that came with the new phone. It was to pretty i didnt want to remove it. I guess it senses its close to your head so it fades out so the cover was causing it to automatically black out.

It's done that a few times, especially when i need the dial pad available while on my company voicemail. Haven't quite figured out how to get out of it quickly other then waiting 20-30 seconds and tapping furiously to get the screen back. I've had funky screen responses in other apps too (like email),
but hey, it happened quite a bit on my iphone too. Just got used to how that
phone responded.
