Droid Eris ? Your thoughts? Redbadged HTC HERO?

When I played w/ it in the store, I liked it a lot more than from what I was gathering on the net. It's actually a lil quicker than the Droid and is pretty fun to use. I'm def getting my g/f a phone for Christmas and she has always wanted a BB. Currently a Dare owner, she was looking at the Storm 2. But after seeing what the Droid can do, she's def interested, but doesn't like the size or the idea of once again having the same phone. So I'm thinking the Eris may be the way to go.

Looks like the Eris and Hero will both be upgrading to 2.1. W/ that, they'll also be upgraded to a newer version of Sense UI which will include an increase from 5 to 7 home screens and a "helicopter" view. This feature allows pinch and zoom on the home screen to expand and see all seven screens to quickly choose which one to navigate to. This feature will come w/ both the HTC Desire and Legend. It seems very similar to a feature implemeted w/ Home++.
