The reason there isn't much response is because of the one guess per puzzle rule. It is more beneficial to hold back from answering until more letters are revealed. It becomes a game of chicken to see who blinks first and puts in a guess in order to invoke an additional letter being given.
Maybe change the limitation to two guesses per puzzle.
