The Friend and The Light: Two divine atttributes and Reformation.

God Almighty has many attributes and one of the attributes is The Friend, I believe. God helps the believers in various ways; accepting their prayers, fulfilling their needs, bestowing on them progress.

But if special help of God is not visible then the believers must check their steps. This very important point is raised by the reforming to peace ahmadiyya caliph (w.alislam.org) in series of various divine attributes in his Friday sermons from U.K.

God--The Friend has promised to true practicing believers grant of special light in this world and in Hereafter; He is The Light. His light comes in the form of His education which He sends through divine books.

I believe, practicing upon Holy Quran and following the Holy Prophet are two ways which lead to remembrance of God. By remembering God, one finds the ways to understand and pay the rights to fellow human beings and true ways of worshiping God. Also one finds one's humbleness and one develops in character and becomes servant of peace.

If some believers are associated with non-peaceful activities then that is not what any religion came for. Abuse of any philosophy is very possible. Reformation has come from God.

@Luv4AL hatred4non,
Have you considered the possibility that there may not be a God?

....and dear have you considered the surety about existence of God?
A simple few page book cannot be written and papers cannot be put together without help of "somebody" then how such intricate interwoven interlinked universe could possibly have been made by itself? Please just consider the making of our inner ear; such sophistication, for example, are surely made by "someone" .

Why would a "believer" such as yourself, feel the need to preach to others ?

The believers are already convinced by their own versions of religion, and the atheists can see through your simplistic logic. You claim to be a "servant of peace" but history shows that religions and ideologies continue to be a major precipating factor and rationality behind war.

On the contrary, most social scientists would say that "religion" was constructed to a large part for the purposes of social control and cohesion in tribal societies. The "brotherly love" angle came with a subclause defining the qualifications for "brotherhood", (non-believers in specific versions of religion need not apply !).

@Luv4AL hatred4non,
Quote:
In 1984, the Government of Pakistan, under General Zia-ul-Haq, passed Ordinance XX[62], which banned proselytizing by Ahmadis and also banned Ahmadis from identifying themselves as Muslims. According to this ordinance, any Ahmadi who refers to himself as a Muslim by either spoken or written word, or by visible representation, directly or indirectly, or makes the call for prayer as other Muslims do, is punishable by imprisonment of up to 3 years. Because of these difficulties, Mirza Tahir Ahmad moved the headquarters to London, UK.

That explains the "U.K." footnote above !

So believe and get an eternal gift. Don't believe, and get eternal hellfire. An entire philosophy based on bribes and extortion.

@Luv4AL hatred4non,
God is inside every single one of us. God is not a series of steps set out in any holy book, but the deep truth of who we are. God is accessed through many ways, each slightly different for every person. Those who prescribe one way prescribe through ignorance believing it the divine truth, and thereby hide god from humans....in ignorant belief of their righteousness, committing the great sin that they accuse others of.

@Luv4AL hatred4non,
Gods light is not education . God is literally light. Haven't you studied near death experiences. Brillant light is what they see and they are seeing God. In the christian OT/NT I am not aware of a name given to him that means "friend".

This thread is now resembling an Alan Aykbourn comedy in which "believers" are talking past each other on the use of metaphors. !
