@sweda,
Which Baffler is this UK or OZ ? We are being continually baffled, as the books are the same, but publication dates differ. Maybe Duchy can help.
Maybe this should be a stinker.
luck

@ruby333,
However, maybe you never gave it a real thought.

Can you imagine how frustrating it can be to have a grid uncompleted just because you missed three or four clues?

Not everybody can won prizes and many of the posters here are dilettantes.

They need to learn and knowledge can be transmitted either through books, dictionaries or by the answers of other cruciverbalists..

It's far from being lazy, it's using the the tools of the time...

@Francis,
of course I know how annoying it is not to be able to find an answer of course not everyone can win prizes, Lovatts books are not about winning prizes in my opinion, a prize is a little bonus. The point I am making is that if you just ask some one the answer you are not learning anything about the subject, whereas if you look in reference books you get sidetracked and read different things pertaining to your clue and therefore you are learning.even if you go on line you should be able to find an answer without just asking. I just find it strange that someone just asks for the answer to a list of clues. fair enough the odd one I just don't think some people put much effort into it

Dear Ruby333, don't mean to be rude! For your information I have more than 21 dictionaries, crossword and reference books which are looked at before I go to this sight. I also have many crosswords that I complete each week as do others on this sight and we all need help from time to time. I don't have a computer and it is difficult to gain access to one. We all enjoy contacting each other regardless. Obviously you don't you know how this system works! Please go back to your books!

Francis, thank you for your assistance as usual and understanding.

Regards
Sweda

@sweda,
dear sweda,don't get in such a fret I was just stating my thoughts which I presume I am allowed to do. I am aware how the site works but I think we had better agree to differ on this one I have no intentions of getting into a slanging match with you, it is'nt worth it..,sorry if I offended you, that was not my intention .all the best ruby333

@ruby333,
dear ruby333, thank you, thank you, thank you. You have said what I have been thinking all along. If sweda can't work out that many clues in the crosswords, she should try something easier, like walking the dog! Fair enough we all come across the odd clue we have trouble with, but not as many as sweda does, carleen

@carleen,
thanks Carleen for your post, my comments were not a personal attack on Sweda or anyone else, I just think its laziness to just ask someone for so many answers, when with a little trouble you can find them for yourself . Of course we all get stuck on the odd one from time to time but not a list. This is my personal opinion, others might disagree but I'm glad that at least one other person agrees with me. Kind regards Ruby 333

@carleen,
Dear Carleen,

Sorry I annoy you also, you should have come in before and told me - not that it would have made any difference.
Its a pity I haven't got proper access to a Computer but I do the best I can with the little time I get (15 minutes) at the local Library.
Like I said to Ruby 333, I check all the reference books I have before going onto the Computer. Have been using this site for several years and have found most people very helpful and this is the first time I have come under attack.
I enter all the Lovatt's competitions I can (havn't won anything to date but we can hope)

Don't bother to reply to anything I post - that way I won't annoy you.

ps. My 2 dogs do get walked.

@sweda,
Hi sweda
seems no one has heard the adage
"Don't critisise anyone until you have walked in their shoes"
I'm sure you will always get support from the regulars.
Have to say Francis is such a big help considering he doesn't get the puzzles.
All the very best sweda. GO GIRL
