So the person heading the "study" admits that they are agenda driven and thus can not possibly be devoted to science, and yet we still take what they claim to have found seriously enough to create a thread about it??

This is either nuts, or an attempt at humour.

The sad fact is that it often happens that people are lied to so that they can feel good about themselves. This is where civilization is 2010.

@hawkeye10,
This is all about 'the collective' that you always espouse--' If every woman can't have a personal pleasure zone -it makes all woman feel better to believe that no women have them.'
How depressing.

@ossobuco,
Sorry Osso - but I have absolutely no control over that - you'll have to take care of that yourself. I don't know what he said to offend you, so I can't comment.

But seriously - I don't get this study and I don't believe it- do they not believe that certain people have a personal responsiveness and receptivity to stimulation in particular spots.
I always just assumed that everyone did - women and men- and it's not necessarily located in the same spot for each individual.

Maybe the study should explain that a lot of women haven't found their spot - instead of denying its existence at all so that those who haven't found it can feel 'normal'. If that's normal - that's depressing. What's the point?

I don

@ossobuco,
Aah...relax. They're just funny.

Trying to make a study into a huge sociological/political psychodrama.

Of course such studies have a socio-political context, but such turgid offerings by Hawk and now Aidan can be ignored, laughed at, or explored with interest and debated enthusiastically....whatever suits you.

I meant the thread lightly, though I think the subject matter is interesting....but heck, there's no controlling threads.

Who knows whether the dear old spot exists or doesn't?

It's still fun looking.

If it feels like you have one, enjoy it. If you feel like you don't....STILL enjoy it.

@ossobuco,
What DO you think of the science, in so far as you can tell from such an article, Osso?

It seemed kind of incoherent to me...but, again, as I say, it's hard to judge from the sort of reporting that normally appears in the popular press.

Oh, yeah, this lack of a G-spot on my part has just crushed my self-esteem. Can't hardly get outta bed in the morning and face the day, without a G-spot.

Never mind that pesky job, intellect, achievements, or any of that blather...

But wait, they did the research on the British? They're not supposed to admit to anything enjoyable.
