I heard an interview with Tim Freedman (formally of the Whitlams) the other day in which he sang his own version of the old Billy Field song, You Weren't in Love With Me, on his newly released CD.
So I thought I'd see if I could find it on YouTube & have another listen ....
No luck. It turned out to be a wild goose chase.
Oh well .... here are a couple of other versions of the song, the original version by Billy Field & the second by Mick Fleetwood .... both from ages ago.

Now imagine this, msOlga: you're third violin, and your A string is a tad off key. The
expression on the conductor's face at14:37 tells you he knows you're off key.
And is not amused.

Oh I'd rather not, neko!
I can imagine the mortification, to live through such an experience would be excruciating!
How could the 3rd violin person ever live it down!
lol- just had to fit that sour expression somewhere into the discussion, msO;
Tchaikovsky's Capriccio is on my top 5 favorites list.

Now, an oldie in a different category.
Here's one from the distant past to smile in understanding to, by Eartha Kitt; that
is, if you can understand her french.

@msolga,
Found it, quite by accident ....
Now I'm thinking that I preferred the song without the visuals.
Quote:
Tim Freedman - You Weren't In Love With Me
Originally recorded by Billy Fields in 1981, 'You Weren’t in Love with Me’ is the first single from former Whitlam - Tim Freedman’s new album AUSTRALIAN IDLE ...
I've just finished watching Dogs in Space, a film "set in the "little band scene" in Melbourne in 1978" ...
I saw it years ago, but wanted to catch it while it was still available on iview ( ABC television's online site for recently broadcast programs).
Anyway, it depressed the hell out of me .... heroin, one of the cast leads dies ... & also a very young (now dead) Michael Hutchence in the lead role .... grim stuff. <sigh>
A lot of music from the period, including this track from a very young Nick Cave, who was then lead singer of the Boys Next Door ..... before he went off to a very successful solo career.:
One of my faves Olgs - particularly the soundtrack - I bought the black version on vinyl (complete with dialogue of rude words) Impossible to get on CD.
Nick hated Shivers (it was actually a song bought in by its writer Roland S. Howard who joined the Boys Next Door as second guitarist from his band The Young Charlatans). I'm going to post it on the originals thread right now (some Dutch blogger is claiming The Young Charlatans covered the Boys! Silly bugger)
That movie taught me how to impersonate a lamb bleating (you shake your butt and then move the shaking up to your head and bleat 'maaa').
Did you watch the new print of Dogs on the ABC (or iview) recently, hinge?
Apart from the depressing moments it was a lot of fun to see it again.
Well Nick might not have liked Shivers, but I love it! He certainly does a much better job of it than Rowland, I must say. (just checked out that version on your thread.)
Thank you for the music to download. I'll have a go at that when I'm feeling confident.
No Olgs - I only saw it the once back in 86, I did see the band Beargarden (lead singer Sam Sejavka was who the Hutchence lead was based on) though, in some beer barn in the 80s - maybe when they supported Orchestral Manoeuvres in the dark at the Caringbah hotel. All a blur now.
