I was an early teen then, in sort of a musical hiatus as we moved, lots of goings on and not much music. We lived for a while at my aunt's, who was no music buff, until we could nab a house so I missed a few years.

Anyone here ever listened to Joni James over your hometown radio in the car?
She was nice to listen to back then - oh, early fifties or so...
