Give this one a listen, Ms. Olga, another one out of the past:
I doubt if anyone could deliver China Gate with such mystic mood as Nat King Cole. I wouldn't have known about this number but for a jukebox in Taipei over fifty years ago.

This number by Sammy Kaye
reflects the taste in popular music at the time I was old enough to pay attention
to such stuff around the house - oh, around 1941- and the lyrics still baffle me as they
did back then. Some here may recognize the melody as the one played by Sgt. Fatso(Ernest Borgnine)
in the social club scene in "From Here To Eternity".
I'm on a bit of a nostalgia thing today. Listening to favourite music from way back.
This is Jo Jo Zep & the Falcons.
A band I loved in the late 1970s.
Back in the days when anyone (in Melbourne) who was cool listened to RRR.
Terrific community radio days!
Peggy Lee's haunting Johnny Guitar is yet
another relic from the music - rich 1950's. I keep a link to it
on My Favorites.
Best listened to in a quiet room.

I had to do a bit of driving in my car on Good Friday & while I was zipping down the freeway I listened to the ABC's coverage of the Byron Bay festival.
Very nice.
I heard quite a bit of these two (singing to semi-delirious, devoted fans ).
Ben Harper & Xavier Rudd.
I've picked a few tracks (at random) from both of them from YouTube:
