love this tune, the player with Cuddy on his jersey is Jim Cuddy from the band Blue Rodeo, McSorley is Marty McSorley a beloved Canadian Hockey player (retired), the other players are former hockey players and current musicians

lost Together is my favourite Blue Rodeo song

here's an interesting genesis of a tune, liz phair originally released a number of songs on cassette on her own girlysound record label, she later reworked this tune for her second label release, i think i prefer the original myself

I'm gonna tell my son to grow up pretty as the grass is green
And whip-smart as the English Channel's wide
And I'm gonna tell my son to keep his money in his mattress
And his watch on any hand between his thighs
And I'm gonna lock my son up in a tower
Till I write my whole life story on the back of his big brown eyes

When they do the double dutch, that's them dancing
When they do the double dutch, that's them dancing
When they do the double dutch, that's them dancing
When they do the double dutch, that's them dancing

I'm gonna tell my son to join a circus so that death is cheap
And games are just another way of life
And I'm gonna tell my son to be a prophet of mistakes
Because for every truth there are half a million lies
And I'm gonna lock my son up in a tower
Till he learns to let his hair down far enough to climb outside

When they do the double dutch, that's them dancing
When they do the double dutch, that's them dancing
When they do the double dutch, that's them dancing
When they do the double dutch, that's them dancing...

Was looking for a particular track on YouTube & couldn't find it. Got side-tracked by Elvis Costello, then lost track of what I was looking for in the first place.
Never mind. This is fine ...
What's so funny about peace love & understanding?:

I wish I could find an earlier version of him singing this one.With great passion. Smile But this one's pretty good, too. :

One last one. Hey, this is great! Early Elvis with the stove-pipe pants, the curling lip & lots of hair! Very Happy

@msolga,
OK, enough family angst.
Here's a lighter Wainright song. The swimming song.
Actually, I like this clip because of the dog. Such a swimming fool. Smile

Just one song before heading off to bed. Early-ish night.

Don't ask me to explain the blue stuff around Michael Stipe's head/eyes. It's a mystery to me, too.

But really like the song & have a lingering soft spot for REM.

Goodnight. :

@msolga,
I thought you might enjoy this version with Mavis Staples and Robben Ford.

A gorgeous REM song...and note that Michael Stipe isn't even acknowledged by Letterman.
