The one thing I have learned and tried to pass on to other men: Never buy anything for a woman unless she has expressed a desire for it (cookie cutters? Cookie jar?). This goes double, maybe triple, for anything that has an electrical cord.

I love, love, love my rice cooker. It never, ever boils over and it always cooks perfectly. Bought at XS cargo for $13.
I bought a bread maker too there too, $20. Used it once. I guess either my yeast or flour was too old, so it made terrible bread. I don't eat much bread anyway, so I gave it to my mom. She had worn her old one out and 7 years later, the thing is still kicking, she loves it.
My hubby likes the crock pot, me not so much... I've never seen a roaster but I don't think I'd use it too much. In the winter, the oven helps keep the house warm. In the summer, I BBQ.

I have too many friends crying the blues today. They were really hoping the Eskies would make it. I'm not a fan, but I can't be caught even whispering a cheer in favour of the Stamps. I'd be crucified. Wink

I got ya all beat.

my ex-husband got me TWO gifts one christmas.

A vacuum cleaner and a porno tape.

The vacuum wasn't even an upright. Probably the reason for the porno.

The frozen turkey I'd bought when I got this was thawed out in the refridgerator, so I cooked it in the roaster last night.

Came out fine, but I had to let it rest inside the roaster with the lid off, as it wouldn't have been easy to reach into the roaster cavity without getting burned.

I just did some roasted vegetables in it, and they were great.
A small rutabega, a sweet potato and a couple of beets, all cut up, seasoned and oiled.
