@tsarstepan,
It was just announced that the next two foods on Michelle Obama's hit list are frozen pizza and fries.

I wonder if we see McD's draw the line here at trying to appease the food Nazi's. They are going to have to make a stand somewhere, and the last few years of retreats have not helped and have probably hurt their profitability so maybe today is the day.

ok, ok, I'll figure out how to post this - might take a while as how can an old post not show up?

The point was, if you are interested, that those were good fries

Oh well, I've lost interest.

@ehBeth,
As of one year ago, the best French Fries I ever ate were served from a van front of Toronto's TV tower, across the street from the Glenn Gould statue. They were just as good two years ago, so I know this was not a fluke. You'll have to wait a bit because the owner makes them from scratch on your order. "From scratch" means "starting with chopping the potatoes". But they're worth the wait.

@Thomas,
They make good fries in this town. I know the chip truck you mean Thomas - there are also a couple of good ones by City Hall - and yeah, they have the potatoes waiting in buckets of water waiting for orders so they can be cut up before cooking. fresh fresh fresh

Craft Dogs this year?

I'm afraid not. My sister D. has tickets for the Lucerne Festival in mid-August, and my mom will turn 75 in late December. This will add up to me not being in the neighborhood.

Not Five Guys, just had some last week but could not eat them. Almost as bad as In & Out. In my opinion if folks cant do fresh potato frys right (that is not serve me little grease sponges) then they should stick to commercial frozen.

@margo,
Cheeseburger in Paradise in Hawaii; both Maui and Waikiki. Their burgers are average, but their fries are top notch!

@tsarstepan,
Looks like a few folks have had Thrashers french fries. I absolutely love them. It's worth a drive to Ocean City to get another big cupful of vinegary tasty fries. In addition to Thrashers, many diners and cafe's in Maryland serve fries with gravy. I thought it sounded disgusting, but it's addictive. I know that might sound like deep fried mayonnaise balls, but it's actually pretty good. I don't eat fries very often, because they make me queasy. As tasty as they might be it's not worth the french fry hangover for me.

Big vote for Thrashers.
But I stopped into Five Guys and mannnnnn.
Those fries give Thrashers a run for their money.
