Riddle me this

Hi All I wonder if anyone knows the answer to this riddle

you are born with it... lose it when you are 13... get it back when you are 21... u can buy from a shop... but can't sell it... only men ever need it... what is it...?

Was asked it at work today anyone know

I had a bunch of thoughts, but so far, none fulfill all the categories Laughing 13 and 21 and 'men' are red flags for me....still, can't figure it yet.
