Humans clearly avoided the things, nonetheless you still see accurate depictions of known dinosaur types in Amerind petroglyphs around lakes and rivers and in some cases like in Utah in the middle of nowhere here and there. Lewis and Clark noted that their Indian guides were in mortal terror at the sight of water panther (stegosaur) glyphs around the Mississippi river since the original meaning of the things was something like "Hey, one of these things lives around here, be careful"...

I agree with Professor Farmer that if it is a dinosaur,
he is probably a stegosaurus. I wish that we coud see
the end of his tail in the picture.

Do u believe that stegosauruses inhabited America 200 years ago ?

However, he also appears to have a trunk in the front.
I can see an argument that he is a mammoth or mastodon,
tho I am not of the opinion that either of them
was extant in America so recently.

Stop calling me perfesser, I work for a living.

You misunderstood. I stated that Vine Deloria said that if it was a dinosaur, it was probably a stegosaur. I then stated that his statement was utter and mind blowing bullshit.

1. I thawt u told me that u were a professor.
Perhaps my memory has failed.
Maybe I have u confused with someone else.

2. Here is your quote:
" I suspect that the "dinosaur" must be a stegosaurus.
What utter and mind numbing bullshit. EStablish one fancy myth
by getting past the dubious fact that the animal was NOT A
DINOSAUR , then give it a SPECIES name. If thats how gungas
Creationist assholes think, they all deserve each other.
Twits "

3. I am perfectly well aware that u have never entertained
any illusions that there were dinosaurs contemporaneous with men
and that u obviously did not fall into that error now,
but we were shown a drawing. ANYTHING can be in a drawing.

4. If u don 't mind my offering a personal opinion:
altho we both know that u r obviously pre-historically right
and biologically right, and geologically right,
u might show a little mercy to those who are not as well informed
as u r and who r not thinking as clearly as u r.

The fact that u r RIGHT, does not move u inexorably to brutality
against those who are not so.

U can be right, but is it absolutely necessary to be a sadist about it ?

There is absolutely no basis for any claims about dinosaurs being mentioned in the bible.

@OmSigDAVID,
I know you can't see this, David, but don't you understand that we are not making fun of other people's religions but, rather, of other people's stupidity?

I too am in the dawning of my geezerhood, but you usually read things corectly. In this case, when I reread my post, I still came to the conclusion that I did not endorse the position that the petroglyph of the mushipishi was

1A dinosaur and, as such

2Certainly WAS NOT a stegosaur.

AS I was sort of paraphrasing Deloria (A well known Amerind nut-case) , and I did not use quotes, perhaps you assumed I was supportive of that statement.I was not.

In that case, chalk it up to my laziness in typing skills, or my phrenetic style of communication where I want to "get it up" on the board as I make it up.

I dont believe I said anything uncomplementary, so , in that case we chalk your sensitivity up to a piece of undigested beef.

I love that picture. It's just about the silliest thing I've ever seen.
