And my step father once derided me because, he said, "You act like them comic books are worth a million dollars."

@edgarblythe,
EB! I was thinking, we, the self-appointed Curators of the a2k Comic Museum, have been slacking off in our a2k Comic Page exhibition duties.

@djjd62,
I love this one. It took me a couple of minutes to actually figure out the joke.

@tsarstepan,
I won't post a comic unless I think it better than average. Wink

@edgarblythe,
That's the professional spirit we need to keep this a2k Comics Museum amongst the great museums of art like the Whitney, the Boston MFA, the MET, the MOMA, the Getty, the Tate Modern, the Isabella Stewart Gardner, and the MOBA.

I reported that Superman's first appearance sold for $1 million, but I was wrong. It was Batman.

@edgarblythe,
Both superheroes hit the million dollar mark:
Quote:
Yes, these are extremely rare, "very fine"-condition comics that are freighted with history: Superman debuted in Action Comics No. 1 issue from 1938 (record price Monday: $1 million) and "The Batman" first swooped into a comic book in the Detective Comics No. 27 issue from 1939 (new-record price Thursday: $1,075,500). But really? One. million. dollars? (The previous record was $317,000.)

I got confused, because the the stories were reported separately, days apart.
