I have a sony dcr-trv250 video camera. It will play videos i have recorded in the past. The problem is that it wont recored anymore! When i press the recored button a crossed out tape and an eject sign show up on the screen. Does any one know what the problem is?

Check the record tab on the tape.

So many people forget this and I've done it myself. Put a piece of tape over securely over the open hole left by the broken out tab and it will be recordable again.

Suddenly my Sony TRV140 Digital-8 camcorder won't record tho it worked fine the day before. A faint image does show if pointed at a light bulb. All else works fine! I have pushed Reset with power on and off, let the device sit hours and retried. Etc., etc. Sony wants $171 flat. This device is about 4 years old and so spending much seems impractical. Advice/fix?
