@Muarck,
thank linkat for that idea, she came up with the fruit.

It's really hard to set yogurt or cinnamon rolls on fire though.....

@chai2,
I like the scrambled tofu idea - if you want to have the guy cook.

@chai2,
I'm really starting to get into the Yogurt idea. Yogurt with fruit and maybe a couple amenities. I don't think he need to go as far as making the Yogurt though, but thanks yeah, really good idea!

@Muarck,
So do we get some of the royalities?

Or at least can we attend the premier?

@Muarck,
Agree totally. Eggs Benedict is a dreadful idea. I'm a guy and eggs Benedict is standard fare for me if I'm having breakfast elsewhere than my own kitchen. Nothing girly about that. The crepes Suzette might not be a bad choice.

[Edit: sorry. Had posted that before I realized the problem has been solved.]

@Muarck,
All I can say is it is making me hungry! I am not a breakfast person generally - but the smoked salmon - yummy.

@Muarck,
going off subject a little, but that smoked salmon, cucumber thingie reminded me....

My husband's first wife was his high school sweetheart.
They graduated I think in 1964.

Helen was the President of the Future Homemakers of America Club.

wowsers.

He still has this cookbook of hers from back then, and when I saw it I said "You need to keep that somewhere so it won't get damaged! You've got a piece of americana there!"

It is so kitschy and cute with pictures of housewives waiting for their husband to come home....not getting distressed when he shows up with the boss for dinner.....receipes for fancy drinks like "Tahiti Fizz"

carry on.

I like the fruit & yogurt smoothie idea.

It's girly, it's trendy among 20 yr. olds, and it requires a little preparation, which your fictional father could handle.

I don't know: my teenage daughter likes bacon and eggs for breakfast.
Girls nowadays are far less frilly than one might think...

...however, if it has to be girly: chocolate croissants with coffee au lait would
do it.

@Muarck,
I'm guessing he would kind of go over board. Opting for more choices just incase she didn't like something. How about an egg white omelet with asparagus and soy sausages. Maybe a vitamin concoction or smoothie with things like protein powder or fiber powder in them. Perhaps instead he should buy a microwavable spinach souffle from the frozen food section. That he dresses microwaves and puts on a plate with some microwaved soy sausages and he concocts the smoothie him self with the items listed above. Or maybe he would buy her things that she liked as a child...little heart shaped pancakes and pink milk? I guess it depends on what the dad is like, and how his relationship was with his daughter before they were estranged. Smile
