About once a year I travel to Las Vegas to use up some vacation time. This year I will be celebrating two things: a birthday and a "Yay, I'm divorced!" party.

Generally I like to stay in the downtown area, gamble, and drink the night away. Smile What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas right? Anyway, I'll be going with my mother and her friend. Heh, yeah. So my mom says "We need to stay together for safety." I say "Pish posh, I'm an adult, I have no intention of spending the ENTIRE time hooked to two older ladies and will probably end up just wandering around the casino and playing a bit of craps and/or backjack."

Anyone have any safety or other tips for 40 something female, spending limited time solo in Vegas? I haven't been single in over..........15 years and I just want to have some fun! Smile

First of all, leave your mother at home. Vegas ain't the place to be with your mother. Maybe check out some of the male strip clubs or the comedians. If I'm there we can get together for a cocktail.

@NickFun,
My first thought was that this could turn out to be the making of a comedy vignette or a nightmare sitcom. Moving along, I'll just say I hope all of you have a good time.

@ossobuco,
That occured to me also Osso. "Can a recently divorced woman and her mother go to Vegas without driving each other crazy".

@ossobuco,
My first thought was the original Las Vegas, which is in New Mexico. If so, the action is surprisingly found at the 7/11. Highlands University is a distant second.

@NickFun,
Heh, that's exactly why I am insisting on having solo time. At least she will have her friend to keep her 'mostly' occupied. Smile

@ossobuco,
Heh, likely. Good thing is, I'm a total night owl. She'll be in bed by 10PM which will give me until sun up to have fun without her. And I intend on sleeping most of the day...in my OWN solo room. I've learned sharing with her is a...nightmare to say the least.

@mm25075,
<Laughter Snort>: Sharing with mom! I'm a Night Owl too.

Funny, when I heard about your trip I actually THOUGHT about taking my own mom, whom I haven't seen in some ten years, just for a bit of Female Fun.

She's pretty hip for a 78-year-old, actually, but... well, we'll talk about my childhood later, OK?

Wish I could go with mm. It "could" happen, but doesn't seem too likely at this point.

In the meantime, sending some big fuzzy kitten snuggles.

@BorisKitten,
Thank you BorisKitten Very Happy My mom is ok, her friend is 'cool' too so I don't have to much to worry about.

Trying to get other friends to meet up there too...hmmmmmm don't suppose bribery will work Wink
