Yeah they are cool looking hairstyles and the Emo look is in right now...my husband is a hairdresser so I know what Im talking about, he had a Japanese model (for competition work) not so long ago and he did her blunt cut fringe in solid fuscia (Pink) and yellow off symetrical down the back. The whole cut is off balance and looked awesome hence he won the competition out of 150!...go for it!!
The last one is more in for the guys, thats the style my husband has...but I cant see what you look like to see if it would look good on you. Anyhow you need block colour none of this highlight stuff.
No no, sorry I will explain different...yes get colour but get it done in big chunks of colour...not smal such as highlights, because it makes no impact.

Well just try it out ...but if you go blonde on black, those bits will be like straw because they have to strip your hair of colour completely...but its up to you, just make sure you use good products.
