GE Profile Water Softener Started to Overflow

Hi
After a re-generation last night, I woke up this morning to water in my garage and noticed that the water level in the water softener was just below the top (source of my water on the floor? overflow).

I did notice prior to this that my salt in the well did seem to be caking up.

Can anyone help me troubleshoot and is this sound like an easy do-it-yourselfer or should I just call in a professional?
