What's the geekiest 'air' instrument of all time?

A very little flute.

I am adding air ocarina to the list of geeky instruments, and air vibraphone.

They say size does not matter - but I still say the flute....

Actually, I am pretty good (or used to be) at air guitar....and still play the air tabla with Ustad Zakir Hussain....

Here's an oldie: wax paper and a comb. It produces a sound similar to a kazoo and anyone musically inclined or not can play it

Dancing with a broom or the sit-down boogie?

Thinking back, it was very funny to see a man strumming an air guitar so very near his zippered fly. THAT may be the geekiest.

Then there was the poor drunken and stoned-out fella in 1969 who beat his leg (apparently as drums) so hard that he was black & blue. Another geek.

As I am among the geekiest geeks of them all (one of my nicknames around here is Her Majesty, Queen of the Dorks) I have to say that I play the air keyboards all the time. And I use the air baton to conduct my radio pretty often too.

I voted for the keyboard, because if I play it in the air, it must be pretty darn geeky.

Not as geeky as air guitar-keyboard. Anyone remember those from the 80s?

strange. I've never played at playin' instruments except, as Walter said, faking a bagpipe, but I swear on some late night show, I saw a man walk out in full black tie regalia, rip off his sleeve and play his arm, complete with cadenza. I guess that could be called Geeky, but it was hilarious.

Also the drummer in our group used to play a magazine with his brushes. Very Happy

Hey, does that count as air stuff?
