@Cycloptichorn,
Ok, you delay the checkmate by going that direction. But not for long...

@Robert Gentel,
You think you're that close to the checkmate?

Not anymore, just talking smack. ;-) If your king had made the only other move available to him, it would have put you in a very bad spot where you'd have to make the perfect moves to avoid checkmate right away. Now I'll probably have to get a material advantage first but you ensure a good exchange for me right now with that move (the alternatives set up the checkmate possibilities, so that's the lesser of the evils).

@Robert Gentel,
It worked out the same in the end, but I would have preferred to move my other rook - the H1 rook - 1st, but the BBcode wouldn't let me. First problem I've found with it.

I think you did the notation wrong, you used: "Rh1-f1" but it should be "Rh1f1" (at least that is what works, I don't know the notation well enough to know which is correct, but I suspect it is). Since it is all the same result, I've fixed it below to move how you'd intended.

@Robert Gentel,
Yup, same result either way. But I tried Rh1f1, it didn't work either.

Sometimes the last move is buggy, and the one step forward button doesn't work (but the go to end one does). However I was able to use it and it worked, and then I continued the game from there and if you go back you'll see it moved in the sequence you wanted. In any case here's my material advantage, so the end is near....

@Robert Gentel,
Not as near as you think, for sure. You are in a poor position to exploit the advantage.

I think it's going to take a while and you could probably play it out all the way to the last man, but we are now in the end game, and I'd have to make a very simple mistake to lose or draw.

I'm afraid both of you gentlemen are wrong.

The correct notation would be: Raf1
For rook from the a-file to f1

If it had been the other rook, it would have been: Rhf1
For rook from the h-file to f1
