Chile - Relocating from America

I'm a college student fed up with going to college and trying to live the "American Dream." I want to move away; I want to do something with my life. I don't need to be remembered, but I want to go out making the world just .0001 % better than when I entered it. I am thinking about moving to Santiago and working at an orphanage there. One may ask why Chile? I love the culture. I love the climate. Anyways, any suggestions or advice from anyone who has been in my shoes or currently lives there would be greatly appreciated.
