Been a while since I've been here....BPB, Alan Holdsworth rocks, but my heart is still with John McLaughlin, hands down for all-time overall favorite guitarists, and I love tons of guitarists. Incidentally, his official site is about as easy to navigate as his time signatures. Surprised

I would nominate a brief flash in the pan, Slow, for 'Have Not Been The Same' and for possibly every song on that EP. Sadly, I don't think you can find it anymore.

SealPoet, I love Bill Nelson, especially the Be-Bop Deluxe stuff....'Sister Seagull' in particular has a great riff.

The sinewy guitar riff on Butterfly is the song's lethal hook. For being a bubble gum song, that guitar theme raises it above the mediocre.

InfraBlue you have got to be kidding!?!
The riff from "Butterfly" is a sample of "Pretty Little Ditty" by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. I seriously doubt any of the members of Crazy Town play the guitar at all!

As for my picks;

Satisfaction - Da' Stones
Black Dog - Da' Zepp's
Master Of Puppets - Metallica

Are we only talking lead riffs here or can we talk bass riffs too?
