It is very hard to compose something like this, but my list is like this:
1.)Sweet Child of Mine-Slash (Guns 'N' Roses)
2.)Crazy Train-Randy Rhoads (Ozzy)
3.)Cowboys From Hell-Dimebag Darrell (Pantera)
4.)96 Quite Bitter Beans-Chad Ginsburg and Deron Miller (CKY)
5.)Enter Sandman-James Hetfield and Kirk Hammet (Metallica)
Again, as in the play thread, you are limiting yourself to a few short decades!
But I like the topic and will be looking in!
I said only guitarist......but anyone who has an opinion can post.
Child, I was never into Ozzie when he was popular, (in his other life that is) but by teenage son listens to his old stuff now and one of his guitar players is or was really great. I don't know who it is though, and I'm sure there have been many over the years. I'll listen again and see if I can figure out who it is.
He has had three main guitarist.
1.) Tony Iommi (with Black Sabbath)
2.) Randy Rhoads(his first 2 solo albums)
3.)Zakk Wylde(his latest work)
In my opinion Zakk Wylde is the only reason Ozzy has lasted for as long as he has. Black Label Society is Zakk Wylde's band. If your son hasn't already check it out, i'd advise him to. Zakk Wylde is probably one of the most well rounded musicians alive. He can blast out a KILLER guitar solo, and then make you cry with a sad love song on piano. He is great.
I don't like Ozzy anymore. The T.V. show has ruined him for me
.
Mahavishnu Orchestra, Birds of Fire...erm, Hendrix's cover of Dylan's All Along the Watchtower....everything posted so far are amazing riffs...I would also include the Stones 'Satisfaction'. Tons of Zeppelin on the brain, but too tired.
Watchtower-Oh. yeah.
Layla
Bell Bottom Blues
What version of Layla?
acoustic or electric
I didn't know there were two until this girl at my school told me...And her name was Gaela, her parents are huge Clapton fans.
I was thinking the Electric
November Rain-----Slash
Stranglehold-----Nugent
Stairway to Heaven-----Page (heard it today--ouch!)
whatever he plays----Stevie Ray Vaughn
intro to Beat It------Van Halen
Freebird-------Skynard
I'm flicking my Bic for #3 and#6
You can't really think November Rain is better than Sweet Child of Mine, can you?
I really must say Slash wails righteous in the November Rain riff.
It kills.
Do you really speak that way, or were you making fun of my dialect?
Either way, tu shay.
I was flashing on Wayne's World.
But he does wail righteous.
Haven't bumped into you before. Like the threads, and glad you're here.
