Well, we've tapped this one out. Time to get stuck into the New Zealanders I reckon:

According to many ekky dymocks across the Dutch (especially those that hev tinea) the hardest tusk in En Zed is to "mulk error route buskets".

@Mr Stillwater,
Blimey.

The first part of that sentence (up to and including "dutch") took ME forever to work out.

Be interesting to see if any but antipodeans can work it out.

@dlowan,
You had better put the kuttle on then, en watch the crucket. I think Ketitch was suxty-sux for sux when the Aussies were betting.

What would be more interesting would be to find any who would care.

@Debacle,
What can I infer from my understanding that?

Is my English is improving?

@Francis,
Understanding wot? The Kiwi?

I sense your command of English is brill, Francis; certainly good enough to chaw the fat with a muckety muck ekky dymock.

@Francis,
Excellent, Francis.

BTW, "chaw the fat" is a seldom used variant of "chew the fat" which is just fine and dandy with me; I seldom use either expression. Chin-wagging or simple chit-chat is more palatable. I try to avoid fat.

@fansy,
For # 2. we call them either a nursery or a play group but to answer your question we call them play groups. Play school isn't used as much as play group.

@Merry Andrew,
Most all the time, Andy. I've been told I even carry on dialogues in my sleep, accompanied by considerable wind and thunder, but with no precipitation to speak of, thank goodness.

@invisable bassist,
Cheers, ib. I'll pass that on to the missus. Many moons ago, she was a C of E nursery school teacher. I asked yesterday what they call daycare, etc. in England and she replied "play school." Judging from what you say, I guess she's been out of the loop too long.

@Debacle,
That's interesting, D. My own beloved tells me I, too, carry on whole colloquies during my slumber. What irritates her is that all these conversations are conducted in Latvian, which means she can't understand a word and is convinced I'm divulging deep, dark secrets to which she would like to be privy.

@Merry Andrew,
I advise you to keep an eye peeled in case a Latvian grammar/lexicon should materialize, Andy. Unless your chatterings are squeaky clean.

The body of water that separates North and South Island from West Island is known as the 'Ditch' - it is possibly not wide or deep enough for many of us Aussies.
