Didn't I start a vegetarian thanksgiving thread on another forum a couple of years ago? Weren't there a lot of replies involving tofu? Wasn't I after a meal that reflected traditional choices, such as squash, cooked in an italian manner, such as ravioli stuffed with squash? Wasn't that a lonnnnng thread?

And - furthermore - veggies don't eat muchh, do they? A little soil, a little water, a little sunshine?

Aren't all the veggies you know quite fat? Don't they pig out on pasta, stuff themselves with sugary sweet things, and only on a bad day make do with textured soy in the shape of little sausages?

Some people are "full of beans", aren't they? Most of the vegetarians I know aren't chubby - do we know different people?

Could it be that I know the overweight ones? Wouldn't Dr Atkins say they are having too many carbohydrates? Aren't many of the veggies I know Indian (sorry Gautam but there are some very plump ones)>

Isn't it essential to know that you are eating happy haricots, contented celery, ecstatic endives? Aren't organic veggies handled in such a way that they hardly know they are dead, and give up their lives in a beautiful haze of Nirvana?

Isn't that a bit anthropomorphic?

Did that sound critical? I do like the idea of my salad veggies sitting in lemon and olive oil like pigs in a puddle, don't I?

So what if it's anthropomorphic? Isn't that what veggies are about animals?

Shall we start a new topic of post-holiday questions? Would you like to share with the group some of your better vacation memories? Can you all inspire us to travel?

Did you see my post on the Travel Picture Game? You know, I haven't been too many places out of my own country? Am I a typical American? Well, it's a big country, isn't it?
