I always back myself up with Bible verses, are you saying they're lies?
And why should I lie anyway, what would be my motive? I don't belong to any church and am not trying to drum up new members!
You on the other hand are here to promote the Jehovah's Witnesses.
You quote from the JW's New World Translation which is a pack of lies from cover to cover..Wink

The New World Translation is most definitely not a valid version of God’s Word. There are minor differences among all the major English translations of the Bible. No English translation is perfect.
However, while other Bible translators make minor mistakes in the rendering of the Hebrew and Greek text into English, the NWT intentionally changes the rendering of the text to conform to Jehovah’s Witness theology.
The New World Translation is a perversion, not a version, of the Bible

@Romeo Fabulini,
By relegating the Genesis account to possible allegory/myth, you have denied the authenticity of the Christ you claim to revere. You have lied about the fate of Adam and Eve, because to admit that they are dead, dust, unconscious, and with no hope of further life, would undermine your lie about the mortality of the soul.

I never said Adam/Eve are dead, I said nobody knows!
Certainly eating the forbidden fruit got them into God'd bad books, but they apparently repented afterwards and tried to live a good life, so who are we to judge whether God let them off the hook?

Jesus said- "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned.." (Luke 6:37)

@Romeo Fabulini,

You realise you are accepting as gospel the expressions of a man who makes an obscene amount of money from answering bible questions? that article was written by Michael Houdmann the publisher of the website. His credentials? a man that claims to have had a "vision from God" whose doctrines include the trinity and once saved also saved. The entire site is a recruiting tool for emotional manipulating megachurch types.
Several denominations claim to "have the answers", including the Hovis Biscuits, so do you not think a man that claims to be divinely inspired to answer bible questions would have a vested interest in discrediting his opposition? $$$

Use your head Mick, if you keep quoting heavily biased religious nuts, anyone might think you were one. How many times have I shared the work of Jason Beduhn with you so far?

Most of Christianity's rituals, and many of it's stories, are taken either from Paganism, or other religions. Any open minded examination shows that it's a crock of copied ****.

Uh oh. You believe in God because the bible tells you so. You have to believe the bible because it's the word of God. It gets kind of circular.

The Bible is chock full of lies. The pyramids weren't built by slaves, a global Biblical flood never happened, the Earth is significantly older than a few thousand years, no Roman census was ever held requiring people to go back to their places of birth.

Careful. You're trying to get a christian to see logic. That's like trying to - well - get a christian to see logic. Absolutely doomed to failure.

@Wilso,
I'm sure there's a rapping granny group in some godforsaken part of the Bible belt that has done something similar.

Anyway don't take my word that the JW Watchtower's 'New World Translation' of the bible is junk, just google around.
Every so often they try to correct it such as last years "revision" which fell flat-

"It will also be a source of considerable embarrassment to Watchtower that they must now correct their newly-revised Bibles and begin a new print run – with thousands of the faulty Bibles already in circulation. Watchtower’s writing team will also likely want to double-check each page to see whether there are any similar errors lurking elsewhere"

@Romeo Fabulini,
an anti JW site.

Get some decent sources Romeo, I did my research years ago, and I don't buy from shitmerchants, you shouldnt either. If you want real results, try using sources that do not print with a specific agenda.

Or are tainted results what you look for?

@Calamity Dal,
Hey Calamity, does the 2013 version of the JW's New World Translation contain errors or not?
We'll take a simple yes or no answer..Smile

@Romeo Fabulini,
I dont know nor care Mick, I have the old version and it is a reliable enough resource, If they have made mistakes in the new translation then more fool them. But excuse me if I don't take your word for it, I'll do my own research and let you know
