A2K London Meet V (renamed again)

Reply Wed 24 Sep, 2003 06:08 am
Following the assured sucess of the A2K London Meet IV this week, I have been tasked by Gautam with hosting the topic for the fifth such event. Around Christmas time seemed like a good plan.

If anyone would like to contribute ideas for dates, locations, whatever, then please post here.

It doesn't even have to be in London, so if anyone can think of somewhere else to go then all ideas can be kicked around in here till we come up with something suitable for all the UK & Ireland (smokingunne?) members. Cool...!

Just an idea mate! As about 1/6th of the UK population live in London/M25 then perhaps it's best... We'll see though. I'm easy like Sunday morning!

I've posted similar on the London thread, but the intention really is an exclusíve Britain and Ireland meeting. http://www.bigblueball.com/im/msn/images/48_48.gif

(Thinking that I'd been on two of the previous London meetings, even with my wife ... http://www.bigblueball.com/im/msn/images/Confused%20Smiley.gif)

Gautam - can you help me persuade Walter that we weren't trying to exclude any of our Continental chums?!

attaboy !! You remind me of not so distant past (well abt 2 weeks ago) - these days, I have resolved not to drink during Mon-Thu if I am in London...

Though when I get home and look at my bar - it is bloody difficult !!!

Walter - With gracious thanks for your apology, and in your honour, I have renamed the topic! I trust this meets with your approval. I for one would very much like to put a face to the name 'Walter Hinteler'!

G - How about I rename it "A2K Worldwide Meet"? Or perhaps "A2K 'Anyone who wants to come to London' Meet"? I'm open to suggestions!

Hebba might be interested. He lives in Denmark; I might remember that he is from England. I haven't seen him around a2k recently, but he may just have been busy.

Here are the links to the photos of

A2K meeting London, 20.03.2003

and

London meeting, August, 2003 (which was attended besides our missus by McTag, Steve and me.).

I'm on the one and the other pic, too, not faceless, as far as I remember Laughing

Perhaps you could just call it the northern hemisphere meet!?

Not many southern hemisphere types on the board, and those that are, welll...they do seem a bit unsavoury. Not our sort of people, you know!

Right, I've had enough. I still haven't been to London.

Gautam - you're gonna have to sort this out mate I'm afraid. It's gonna be too tricky for me arrange a meal in a restaurant I've never been to in a city I've only been to once when I was 11! Any ideas?

Anyone else who is likely to come, post with what you'd like to eat and I'll sub-contract my duties back to Gautam to sort the finer details...
