On the "new posts" view, especially, the screen is stretched. (I can only see to the first quarter of the "last post" box without scrolling to the right.) Individual threads seem to vary -- some are stretched, some aren't. (I just tested three, and "Which PowerPuff girl are you?" was fine -- not stretched -- while "Talk to me like a redneck" and "The neverending word association game" were stretched.) My guess is that it has to do with ads -- if so, I'll deal with it. Want to make sure it's not a fixable problem on my end, though.

I've had the same thing intermittently as well, sozobe. I notice it most often on the screen which has >>you<< as the ad. As you say, if it's the ads, I'll cope. The other thing that seesm to be happening at the same time, is that the wording at right side of the ads changes. Sometimes the top one reads 'new posts', sometimes it is 'posts since you were last here' (or something to that effect).

The posts on my screen started stretching yesterday afternoon (Monday) same as Sozobe described.

It's all my fault.

Sigh.

Everything's your fault, Soz!

I've just been too polite to mention all those 'stretch marks'.

It's a known issue and is being worked on.

i'll use my time (now that i don't have to worry about my sanity) constructively - i think i need to do some shopping.

O.K. Really. Thanks, craven.

Glad that got cleared up. I disabled my Ad Blocker and my firewall, but I couldn't duplicate the problem. Had some fun on the Redneck thread, though.

Seems to be ok now, Crave, but it's been a come-and-go situation. My 'your posts' list was most frequently affected.

Can you check it again. I just redesigned the tables on the search page (combining two cells) and maybe it's better.

Can everyone please report their browser resolution (betcha there are a few 800 X 600s)?

800 X 600.

Can adjust it to less or more, should I?

Just now the New Posts page was whacked. A bunch of empty space of the left.

Now it's fine. No blank space on the left.

I just did a few changes.

800X600 is the floor. It's the butt ugliest resolution any webmaster will design to. Anything below that and most sites tell the visitor to go scratch.

The site is designed to work from 800X600 and up. More than 800X600 makes it look much nicer (I'd not use this site if I were stuck with 800X600).

Let me know about these problems if they arise in the future. I'd tested it before but hadn't tested the search pages. It's easy to miss these things and if you see it happen please let me know.

Of course remember that users can stretch pages with long titles etc.

Looks good. And MY ad appeared and didn't stretch anything. Whew! Very Happy

It wasn't related to your ad. Is "your ad" for the hostory channel? I've seen rosie on a history channel ad but that was on a different ad network.
