Merry, I just came across this thread, a month after your surgery. I certainly hope you have recovered by now--from the surgery, not the cold.
A big abrazo for you.

I just read that Monterey Jack used to be username. Very much none of my business, of course, but if you folks were trying to get ahold of him..

@Izzie,
I'm pretty much back to normal, Izzie, thanx for asking. That is, if one can consider anything about me "normal." In the throes of closing down the flat in Boston now. Move to the Sandwich Islands by the end of February.

The Sandwich Islands? What prompted that?

@Merry Andrew,
Sandwich Islands? When? You'd better send me an email, because I want to know all the details. Friends do not leave without notification. Is it to the Big one?

Well, in fact, that's where I'm going -- the Island of Hawaii. However, as you no doubt know, Hawaii is only one of the Sandwich Islands. There are quite a number of others -- Oahu, Maui, Kawaii, Molokai etc. etc. I suppose I should have just said Hawaii right off.

Very good news about being well again, Andrew! Very Happy

You're thinking of moving for good, then?

I'm not sure that I believe in modern medicine. Gimme a good shaman any time.

@Merry Andrew,
Amen to that. Hubby and friends have been after me forever to go to the doctor regularly but everybody I know who goes to the doctor regularly is sick or being treated for some chronic condition! I'm not sick and not being treated for anything. I don't see any reason to take any chances.

Don't be too sure of that. Go see a doctor and I'm sure he/she will find something wrong, something that can be treated. Else, what's a doctor for?

@Merry Andrew,
But that would put that great shaman out of business. I am never sure of anything that we can't be sure of, but I've lived a good long life by being unorthodox and I've escaped a lot of miserable things in the process. I may die younger than necessary, but......oh well. For now it's all good.

Disclaimer: I absolutely 100% do not necessarily recommend my choices to anybody else. And if I had any symptoms of any kind that were alarming to me, I would definitely see a doctor immediately. And I think regular check ups are a good thing to do.
