I'm sorry. I didn't realise it was about dental hygiene. I thought it was about faking looking good. Lying through your teeth so to speak. That's what dental prosthetics are for isn't it? Mainly. And they are detrimental to dental hygiene for obvious reasons.

They are probably pretty safe hygienically if you only put them in to smile.

About half of the posts on the first couple of pages were about retainers and braces. Sorry if that was confusing. Those invisaligns are really pretty nifty though.
