Iraqi Council's Path Diverges From U.S. Plan; Power Struggle

I would argue that the US is not interested in handing over power, and that if any members of the council disagree too strongly with their US masters they will be deposed or killed. I wonder if that wasn't the reason behind the attack on one of them this week? Giving control of a sheep farm to opportunistic jackals is never a good idea, and the jackal's amster must keep a close eye on his doggys, least they eat too many sheep!
