I've had my unit for 5 years now, and have never had this issue, but recently, after the unit regenerates, I have salt water coming out of the faucets in the house. I have to let it run for 10 minutes before it starts to run clean. My local Rainsoft dealer left town and the closest Rainsoft service dept is over 100 miles away. They want to charge me $200 to come out to "take a look". What should I do?
@Dottie,
If it's the Titan Marketing Rainsoft Dealer in Lansing, don't walk, run to a different dealer.
@Dottie,
That usually means that the unit is not rinsing properly or, the salt dose is too high for the final rinse to flush it all out of the tank before going back to service. That's not very likely. A blocked, frozen or kinked drain line can cause that or.... using water during a regeneration will cause salty water to get out into your plumbing. That is highly likely. Flushing a toilet or an RO making water or, the time of day being wrong on the control valve will cause regeneration at some time other than 2 AM can cause it, so make sure the time of day is set correctly. That is very common because when power has been off people forget to rest the softener clock.
