During a 24hr period on the east coast of the U. S. , How many hours should one expect to see the moon? ( other than in the "new phase")

@Hurler,
The answer depends on what date you consider for the 24hr period. The moon rises and sets at different times depending on its position relative to yours. Here is a place to enter your location and date to get moonrise and moonset times.
