@OCCOM BILL,
About the other post view? Nick answered it. The code is ready and it just needs to be put somewhere, but Nick went and decided to eat dinner again and take a break.

I swear, he ate just yesterday! Laughing

@Nick Ashley,
Thank you Nick! So, there is hope for us creatures of habit, and we have
time and will wait - eat your dinner!

Omaha, NE has terrible cold winters, that leaves plenty of time for you to
work on a2k then Very Happy

@Robert Gentel,
You are being waaaay to easy on the minions! I'd recommend a few hours of beatings followed by more sleep deprevation. That'll teach him to have expectations of being be able to eat... Razz

@fishin,

Hmmm... Is there any way we can have both? (i.e. allow the user to switch between the post-level and thread-level?)

The reason I ask is because I've been using "My Posts" as a way to catch-up on a thread after I've been off-line for a while. With the post-level view I could go to "My Posts" and click on my last post in each thread and then read down the rest of the thread for any posts that came after mine.

(delurking) I agree with this. There are some people here who's posts I really enjoy reading. Now, however, I'd have to wade through the whole thread to find their particular post.

If there is some way you could have both options available, I'd really appreciate it.

(goes back to lurking)

Re: hamburger(Post 3368518)
how come ?

i posted a comment re. afghanistan at 4 pm and it shows up under that thread , yet when i go to my posts , it does not yet show up .

it also does not show up under "all new posts - by day" - though a number of posts after 4 pm already do show up there ?

i'll check later to see if my post will make it to "my posts" and "all posts" .

no emergency , just curious .

still curious why it does not show under "all new posts" yet .
but no sweat !
certainly NOT urgent .

@hamburger,
It's a little complicated...

What is currently on your profile page USED to be the "My Posts" view.

That was changed so that you get a view of all of the THREADS you have made a post in, and you can sort them in various ways.

So whatever THREAD you posted the Afghanistan comment in should show. You click on that to go to the thread and see what people have said after you, if anything.

Separately, the profile page lists just your actual posts, most recent first. (That's new -- it appeared sometime today.)

Hope that helps and doesn't just confuse things further...

@hamburger,
though it is strange that my "latest" entry (3368699) already shows under "all new posts" - but not my earlier ones .
"ah , sweet mystery of life ... " - won't sing it here - grin .

@hamburger,
i guess that also means "all new posts" does NOT show all new posts but only a "selection " ?

@hamburger,
It's there, hbg. If you look under your profile you'll see a listing with the heading "My Recent Posts" The one from yesterday is now number 7 on the list.

@hamburger,
I think I might understand what you're looking at... It isn't listed under A2K as a post because it isn't the first or last post in a topic. The listing that shows up under ALL Time and New Posts are the topic listings and the last post (timestamp and poster).

I've just added a bump post to that thread to bring it up onto page one. It should be there with me as the last post
