Who would like to join other A2kers in a group chat?

@roger,
I wonder why they don't redirect people to the beta chat during maintenance.
I agree, meebo chat is pretty strange.

@roger,

Last time I was there was during a site outage, and you have to admit it was kind of weird. Three or four names lurking around waiting to downvote anyone who signed in, and nobody talking. Why would anyone want to be there?

Really, roger?
Sounds kind of unpleasant to me!
Erk.

I think a during site outage would be just about the only time I'd be interested in a group chat.
To keep track of the latest site developments.
I mean, we spend so much time chatting on-site anyway ...

@msolga,
I think the strangeness was due to the presence of non-A2kers on Meebo...which is open to anyone.

We've had some fun chats...it's different from posting on threads.

Trick is getting people together at any one time.

Ah, I see now.
I didn't know that non-A2Kers had access.

I haven't read all the comments, but have you thought about using Skype? It's free...you can chat live in audio only mode ... or you can use vidcam, too. Skype limits contact to two people or discussions in groups of just the members who are part of a list administered by a pre-determined group (moderator).

Then there's IRC (has created rooms with use of moderators who can kick out bad guys)

MSN Messenger

etc

@Ragman,
Yeah..but that serves a different purpose.

The fun of the A2k chat stuff is the unpredictability and that anyone can drop in.

@dlowan,
With IRC chat...the rooms are generally open to all who are on IRC and know of the room. IRC has been around for more than a decade and is pretty popular all over the world.

OK...so where and when are you chat-meeting? I'd like to join in if I can.
