What should I do with incorrectly tagged threads.

I clicked on the tag "Health". This thread came up at the top of the list.

Now that has nothing to do with health as far as I can see.

Can I change how it is tagged? what should I do (if anything)

@dadpad,
I'd imagine that tagging it with what you think is a more appropriate tag would help.

I don't think you can change tags tho. (Can add, can't subtract.) (I think.)

I tagged it as General and it still came up in health.

@sozobe,
I think Craven explained somewhere that in the new system, incorrect tags are to be crowded out with correct ones, not removed. (That's why this one still comes up in health.) For example, if one user has this thread tagged under "health", and ten have it tagged under "forum help" , "tags", "new A2K", or some other tags that make sense, it won't show up prominently under "health" anymore.

Disclaimer: That's the idea as I understand it, but I haven't yet finished getting the hang of it myself. So take this with a grain of salt.

@Thomas,
That's what I was thinking too (you explained it better), so I hope that means we're both mostly right...

@Thomas,
Good explanation, Thomas. I was also concerned about incorrect tags.

@Thomas,
You are close, the missing part is that other health threads need to be tagged health more times to move above this one on the thread list.

So for example, the relevant tags added crowded out "health" for the topic tags, but the health topics in general have so few tags that it's still prominent there.

Thanks for filling in the missing part! I'll remember it the next time the question comes up. And I have a feeling it will. Smile
